VYOM believes that the sole responsibility that it has during difficult times is to serve mankind especially when it comes to vulnerable people and in scope of getting affected. The past few years have been proof of the calamities that have hit our country and the extent of harm it has produced. The floods of 2014 and 2019 left the city in a very bad shape with some people even losing their homes and subsequently finding no place to live.
VYOM considers disaster preparedness and its response as a critical aspect of its organisational mandate and has strategies ready during testing times. Our relief team, in collaboration with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation, achieved astounding success and worked day and night to help the people who had been hit the hardest. VYOM coordinated with all of its volunteers to build their capacities on disaster preparedness and response, and carried out quick emergency response in 2014 and 2019 floods in Vadodara. VYOM volunteers bagged the “City Ka Hero” award for the flood relief work by the Collector of Vadodara and the Police Commissioner of Vadodara city.
Plantation programme is undertaken so that more trees are planted which will bring systematic greenery and a good environment for children to study. Students become aware and sensitized about environment and this initiative functions on the basis of one tree one child and the efforts are to turn into available land under green cover thereby creating healthy efforts and creative interactive awareness. The students take care of each plant individually and see to the well being of it.
