School on Wheels (SOW) is an integrated approach towards improving the quality of education for underprivileged children both at NPSS schools and in the slum communities . It seeks to ensure pre-primary/primary education and extracurricular activities for all children up to the age of 14 leading to their overall development.

The project has been implemented in all NPSS schools of Vadodara city. The key component of the project is a vehicle designed as a mobile classroom to provide additional educational facilities. Through this innovative concept we attempt to reach children of municipal school. This mobile van is well equipped with the educational material like black board, books, reading and pictorial aids, audio visual aids, laboratory, outdoor and board games, library, computers, etc. On the creative front, there are a number of activities that have already been conducted with the children like rope art, flower making, quilling art, warli art etc.We also display exhibitors on a particular topic. Kids of different schools showed extreme attentiveness and excitement for these activities.

Since 2018, the project has so far directly benefited more than 5,000 children between the age group of 5 to 15 years reaching out to 2 to 3 schools a day. The teachers have also started taking an interest by cooperating with the efforts.

The main motive of taking PNP to the slums and construction workers is to literate the children who are deprived of education. Our team of VYOM are available to literate the children in the areas where they are found.

We conduct the activity for a minimum of 2 hrs. Then the bus leads towards its next destination. Our motto is clear to introduce modern & informal education to underprivileged children. To introduce modern study materials and aids to the children going to corporation schools. To minimize the drop out ratio among the students going to corporation schools. To confer values & morals among slum children. To give scope of learning through creativity, experiments, audio visual aids, storytelling and puppet show.
