Large populations of underprivileged children in and around Vadodara are unable to pursue basic education due to the lack of resources available to them. For children who come from families that can’t afford even three meals a day, things like books and pencils are a distant dream. We at VYOM realize the importance of education, and don’t think that not being able to afford stationery or clean clothes should be an obstacle for people who want to learn and make the most of their lives. This is why our volunteers organize collection drives regularly, and encourage people to take part in them. As nobody can understand the impact of a good education better than the people who provide it, we decided to collaborate with various schools on this project. We make it a point to ask for unused and clean items, to make sure the children will feel comfortable using them. The clothes and stationery went directly to children in need, as did some of the toys; a large part of the toys however, were donated to hospital toy rooms in the city
